Saturday played host to the first Queensland Khanacross of the year. The event, run at Hirstglen, played out on a short dirt course throughout the day, with thirty-three participants lining up to run in one of seven categories. Members from the Northern Districts Sporting Car Club and the Gold Coast Tweed Motorsporting Club hit the track, putting their cars to the test.
Despite some concerns, the weather held out and the course proved to be fast for most, with many drivers enjoying dirt drifts, straight sprints, and plenty of opportunity to test themselves and their vehicles for the upcoming year.
Overall, only twenty-four competitors finished all seven runs, with the fastest in the Master class proving to be Chris Wedding with a posted total of 768.31. He was knocked out of overall fastest by Matt Martin in the 4WD/turbo cars class, totalling 717.13.
Australian Motorsport Photography had six photographers on track throughout the day, enjoying all the action and capturing the excitement. For event photographs, please check out the gallery at http://www.ausmotophoto.com.au/
