The Gold Coast Tweed Motorsporting Club Inc. has announced the Border Ranges Short Course Rally sponsored by MPS Web Consulting Services will be run on Saturday the 31st October 2015. New Clerk of the Course Trevor Farrell and Event Secretary Bob Bowden will be ably assisted by Errol Bailey as Deputy C of C. The original Border Ranges Rally organising crew are assisting.
Billed as ‘the best of Boomi’ the two all daylight non-pace noted stages, which are repeated and run in both directions, are the pick of the roads used previously in the Border Ranges Rally but without the seriously fast long straights. Anyone who has competed here in the past will attest to the quality of this event.
This 2015 rally is a club level event and the emphasis is on having a great time rallying on great roads in a great area of the Country. With no Series or Championship points to be chased it is just an excuse to go have some fun.
The well established Woodenbong Showgrounds is Rally Headquarters and Service Park and is located within the short tarmac loop between the stages. There is accommodation in the region and plenty of camping with great facilities at the Showgrounds for those wanting to stay on and party after the presentation of trophies.
Entries will be limited to thirty crews so get in early when the sup-regs become available following the WRC.
There will be an easily accessible (free) spectator point not far from the Showgrounds.
If you are not having a run then the organisers are asking competitors to please contact ‘JT’ the officials co-ordinator and come down to assist as an official.
